Welcome to the exciting world of Greek Life at Duquesne University! This web site provides valuable information on Duquesne's 20 general fraternities and sororities, the numerous honor and professional groups, and helpful hints about Recruitment, the process by which students meet current members of general fraternal organizations. While each organization has its own unique qualities, all have similar goals. They stress the noble ideals of academic excellence, leadership, service to the community, strong friendships, life-time membership, and learning outside of the classroom.
You are invited to browse this web page, and I urge you to participate in the Recruitment Process. If you decide not to join a Greek-Lettered organization, the least you have done is met dozens of new students. Join the Greeks as they get involved in serving the community and the University. Duquesne's fraternities and sororities serve numerous agencies such as the Pittsburgh Children's Institute, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Leukemia Society of America, The Red Cross, and many others. In addition, Greeks are very active in their own intramural athletic league program, and the all-Greek grade point average is consistently higher than the non-Greek grade point average.
Greeks sponsor the premiere social events on campus. Along with the Valentine's Day Ball, Greek Week, Carnival, & Homecoming activities, most chapters have formals, balls, mixers, alumni dinners, and various other great social events throughout the year. Being a Greek at Duquesne University means having a fantastic experience!
Students who join Greek organizations develop leadership and interpersonal skills that last a lifetime. The Greek Community at Duquesne offers valuable opportunities for spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social growth. Seize these opportunities by getting involved! You will not regret what will most certainly be the best time of your life!
If you have any questions about the Greek Community, please feel free to send us an email at greeklife@duq.edu.

God Bless!

Sincerely,

Rebecca Jamrozik
Director
